Vignettes in Hungary - how does it work?

In Hungary, the electronic vignette system was introduced in 2008. It replaced the traditional paper vignette system, introducing an electronic form of tolls for the use of motorways and some expressways.

  • Buses, campers, pick-ups: 1 day - 96.58 PLN, 10 days - 118.08 PLN, 1 month - 175.70 PLN.
  • Motorbikes: 1 day - 45.63 PLN, 10 days - 52.40 PLN, 1 month - 73.69 PLN.

Yes. Thanks to the fact that the process of purchasing an electronic vignette using Autopay solutions is instantaneous, you can buy a vignette even on the day of your trip. You will receive it within no more than a few minutes of payment confirmation. Remember not to drive on toll roads until you have received your vignette by e-mail or you see it in your account in the Autopay app (Download from the AppStore, Download from Google Play).

This depends on where you buy your vignette. If you use the Autopay service, then the electronic vignette will be sent to your email address. If you choose the Autopay app, then the vignette will also be visible in your account in the app (Download from the AppStore, Download from Google Play).

An electronic vignette can be purchased by anyone using the Autopay Market service or with an account on the Autopay mobile app. All you need to do is select the country, enter your vehicle details and the date from which you want the vignette to be valid, and finally confirm the electronic payment.
