Automatic toll payments on the A1 Gdańsk–Toruń motorway, 2026

The A1 motorway runs from the Tri-City to the Czech border, but tolls on the A1 are charged only on the Rusocin–Nowa Wieś section.

The cost of travelling on the A1 motorway depends on the length of the journey and the type of vehicle you are driving.

AmberOne The A1 motorway is 152 km long in total and has 12 toll collection points: PPO Rusocin, SPO Stanisławie, SPO Swarożyn, SPO Pelplin, SPO Kopytkowo, SPO Warlubie, SPO Nowe Marzy, SPO Grudziądz, SPO Lisewo, SPO Turzno, SPO Lubicz and PPO Nowa Wieś.

Although the A1 motorway runs the length of Poland – from the Tri-City all the way to the Czech border – only the section from Rusocin (Pomeranian Voivodeship) to Nowa Wieś (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) is a toll road.

Most motorhomes available from hire companies are vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of up to 3.5 t, which means they are Category 1 vehicles. Therefore, travelling the entire toll section of the A1 (from Rusocin to Nowa Wieś) in a motorhome costs PLN 29.90 (as of October 2026).

The Amber Motorway (AmberOne) is part of the video tolling system, which means you can use the Autopay automatic payment service. If you wish to use a different method, you can pay in cash (PLN, EUR, USD), by payment card, by fleet card or join the AmberGO scheme.

You don’t need to open the app (or have your phone with you). If you’ve previously activated the Autopay service for the A1 motorway (in accordance with the above instructions) – the toll will be charged automatically, as the camera system will read your number plate. Please note that you cannot make any changes to your account while driving, including removing a vehicle or changing your payment method.

The system covers vehicles of all categories – with both Polish and foreign . If you are riding a motorbike, you cannot use the video toll system, as the cameras are unable to read registration numbers mounted at the rear of a motorbike.

If, whilst setting up your Autopay account, you notice that your make and model are not on the list of available options , select ‘Other’ from the list.

If you want to lend someone a car that is linked to your Autopay account and you do not want to pay for that person’s journeys on the A1 motorway – disable the Autopay service for that section. To do this, toggle off the slider next to the name ‘AmberOne A1’.

Yes, the Autopay app is free for private accounts covering up to two vehicles. Therefore, when you use it to pay for motorway tolls, you won’t incur any additional costs apart from the standard toll charge. You can find detailed information in the price list.

Yes. You can also use automatic payments on the A2 Poznań–Konin and A4 Katowice–Kraków, where video tolling is also in operation.

There are 7 categories of vehicles:

• 1 - vehicles with two axles, without double wheels, not towing a trailer
• 1a - motorbikes
• 2 - vehicles with two axles, at least one of which has twin wheels
• 2a - vehicles with more than two axles in total, without twin wheels
• 3 - vehicles with three axles which have twin wheels on at least one axle
• 4 – vehicles with more than three axles, at least one of which is fitted with twin wheels
• 5 – vehicles not falling within categories 1 to 4, in particular non-standard vehicles as defined in the Road Traffic Act
