The Autopay application allows purchase of electronic vignettes for vehicles of different categories, for the period of your choice. With it, you can organise your holiday trip (e.g. to Croatia) seamlessly and avoid the stress of searching for traditional vignette outlets at the border or petrol stations.
How do I buy an e-vignette using Autopay?
Like the other Autopay services, this one is also very simple. Simply download the Autopay app (Download from AppStore, Download from GooglePlay), set up an account, fill in the vehicle details and connect a payment source (e.g. payment card) - you can then proceed to purchase.
- On the home screen, in the e-vignette section, select the country you are travelling to (click on the relevant flag).
- Select the type of e-vignette (Depending on the country it can be 1-, 7-, 10-, 30-day).
- Indicate the starting date and make sure that all the details match (once paid for, it is not possible to change the details or return the vignette).
- Confirm payment
- Once the payment has been made and the vignette generated - you will receive it as a PDF file to your e-mail address (The vignette will also be available in your account on the Autopay app).
The system responsible for delivering the vignettes needs some time to generate and upload the file, so it is important to pay for the vignette e.g. the day before your planned trip. The whole process usually takes up to 15 minutes, but it is worth leaving yourself a safety buffer.
It is worth remembering not to drive on any toll road until you have received an e-vignette in the mail or seen that it is available on the Autopay app. In some countries, e.g. Slovakia, there is an electronic control system that checks whether a vehicle has purchased a vignette. Special cameras placed along the road read the registration number and it is verified whether the vehicle has been paid for. If not, the vehicle owner will receive a fine. So buying a vignette for Slovakia is a must if you do not want to incur a financial penalty.
Does the e-vignette need to be printed?
No. The vignette you can buy with Autopay is electronic. This means that during a possible inspection, you can show the PDF file on the screen of your phone and that will be sufficient. Of course, if, for your own peace of mind, you want to print the vignette - you can do so. The printout will have the same validity as the digital file.
How much does an e-vignette cost?
The prices of vignettes vary depending on the country and the validity period (number of days) - they are usually a few tens of zlotys. As prices fluctuate, we will not mention them here as they could become outdated very quickly.
However, up-to-date prices are always available on the Autopay app - simply log in to your account and select the country you are interested in and you will see the current prices for vignettes with a specific expiry date.

Currently, it enables convenient purchase of vignettes for Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland and Slovenia, automatic payments for driving on almost all toll roads in Poland and for the use of car washes and car parks.
